THE state government has been urged to come up with food catering guidelines for all its functions. R. S. N. Rayer (DAP-Seri Delima) and A. Thanasekharan (DAP-Bagan Dalam) made the call for the state to be more sensitive to Hindus and Buddhists attending such events.

Opposition leader Datuk Azhar Ibrahim (BN-Penaga) today made scathing remarks against an English daily, calling it a "liar" and not even fit to be used as toilet paper during a heated exchange with RSN Rayer (DAP-Seri Delima).
Rayer had moved an emergency motion to condemn the actions of Barisan Nasional (BN) youth from Umno, MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PPP who had demonstrated outside the legislative assembly building on Monday.
Rayer had quoted the report on the demonstration from the Sun and accused Azhar of condoning the violent action.

RESIDENTS of Island Glades can look forward to better security as a community police station has been been set up in the area. Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob said the station located along the Island Glades main road will be launched on Nov 14.

About 50 residents attended the three-hour session organised by Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer and Gelugor MP Karpal Singh who also attended the session.

Former Kampung Buah Pala villagers can move into their new double-storey houses in about two years, said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. He said a fast-track construction would begin once the building plans for the project was approved in a week or two.
