We are glad to notify the public that Kampung Buah Pala village Chairman has agreed to have a meeting with the CM and all the villagers to solve the problem faced by them AMICABLY.
He also apologised for all the adverse publicity while informing that Mr. Darshan Singh (lawyer) is not representing them and Tharmaraj is not their official spokesman.

GEORGE TOWN: DAP yesterday admitted that Pakatan Rakyat had made a promise to save Kampung Lorong Buah Pala, dubbed Penang's High Chaparral, during last year's general election. State DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) deputy chairman R.S.N. Rayer, who made the confession, said the first to make such a pledge were Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders, including Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

GEORGE TOWN: The Kampung Buah Pala saga continues with the Penang state government now scrambling to prevent the demolition of the houses by invoking a clause from the National Land Code. Lim said this at a press conference, which was attended by Bar Council Legal Aid Centre counsel Cecil Rajendra, who was among the lawyers who acted on behalf of the residents throughout their debacle, including the legal battle which they lost.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister 1 Dr Mansor Othman, DCM2 P Ramasamy, Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh and Seri Delima state assemblyman RSN Rayer, who have also been involved in the tussle between the developer and the residents since the onset.
