KULIM: A sister of one of the six men shot dead by police 15 months ago burst into a tirade outside the coroner's court here where the inquest into the deaths is to be held.
Upset that it took months for the inquest to be called, R. Malarselvi, 45, berated the police, saying that family members had been in distress. She cited her mother V. Visachi, 64, who was seen crying at the court premise.
Jagdeep Singh Deo, who is holding a watching brief for the families, assisted by R.S.N. Rayer, said they had yet to be furnished with a set of the documents.

THE overall crime rate in Island Glades, Penang, has dropped dramatically after a community police station was set up on Jalan Delima last November, said George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng.

He said the crime rate in the area had come down to almost zero.
