KUALA LUMPUR, MON:

Unsure of the status of projects for the state under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP), Penang Chief Minister Lim Guang Eng wants to have further discussions on the projects with the Federal government.

Lim said as of now, he was not sure whether the projects, including the monorail, would proceed or be delayed, so he would need more information on the matter from the federal government.
“That’s why I think it’s better for us to meet face-to-face on the matter rather than finding out about it from media reports which may not be accurate,” he said when asked about the 9MP projects in Penang, after attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting here today.

Lim said Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop had informed him today that a local media report yesterday which said the monorail project would be temporarily shelved, was not true.
“I was made to understand by him (Nor Mohamed) that there were two conflicting reports on the matter. Which one should we believe? I like to believe the more positive report,” he added.
Lim stressed that the state government would give its full cooperation and support to whatever projects that could benefit the people in the state.

Meanwhile, he refuted the statement by former Penang chief minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon that the state government had given the contract for the monorail project to the Melewar Group.
“We have only received a proposal and are looking at it. I think in a week and two weeks’ time we will be briefed by Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (on the proposed project).
“The state government has not made any decision on this. If there is, we will tender out the project. We have not made a decision and then only will issue an open tender as claimed (by Koh),” Lim said.

The Federal Govt's attempt to delay the construction of 2nd Penang Bridge ammounts to 'A VOTE OF NO-CONFIDENCE' brought upon itself. They spent money launching the project, spent money dealing with China (loan and contractor), spent money announcing in the media and for every other preparation. ONLY KNOW TO SPEND 1st lah !

Suddenly it seems that all was done without proper forecast and costing by our 'intelligent' EPU when recent annoncement says 'material price going up' and 'have to redesign as the earlier design was from China to Hong Kong'. POSTPONE ANOTHER 9 MONTHS !!!
How sure is the Federal Govt that material prices will come down and they can actually design for Penang correctly in 9 months time? Ooppss, then comes a mistaken design meant for Johor causeway !

Small investors in Bursa Malaysia re in a 'haze' since realizing that they cant even rely on 'substantive' announcement by the Govt to make proper investments, its all a 'Now u see it, now you dont' kind of thingy.
Since then, Bursa Malaysia has been very unstable with questions of 'Is A actually A?' running in investor's mind.
How will there be Corporate Governance when even the Goverment's Governance is so sketchy?
Many low-income earners bought houses at Batu Kawan hoping to raise their kids in a satellite town, once the 2nd bridge is ready, but...looks like they're going to end-up with bread without butter. Was this a MEGA-TRICK to sell all the houses (you know who) was building there?

Whats was planned at Mega level with all the Mega brains 6 months ago seems to have 'off-shot', or rather 'down-shot' now.
HOW ABOUT THE PLANNING TO ACHIEVE 2020 ? Heard there was some sort of BLUEPRINT'.
6 months forecast seems 'down-shot'. 12 more years to achieve 'developed country' status?
Can we hope for it, or pray for it? WHERE IS THE COUNTRY HEADING ???
Its proven that 'rakyat' didnt do a mistake in PRU12..
