Smoother flow of traffic now

AFTER putting up with traffic congestion and heavy traffic flow for nearly 20 years, residents of Lorong Delima 3, 5 and 7 in Island Glades, Penang, can now heave a sigh of relief following the implementation of a one-way traffic system in the area.
The Penang Municipal Council has turned Lorong Delima 5, and parts of Lorong Delima 3 and Lorong Delima 7 into one-way since Thursday.

Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer said among the first few requests he received from residents in the area after he became assemblyman was to turn the roads into one-way.

“I applied to the council for the change in April. There was overwhelming support from the public and residents during the one-month period they were given for their feedback,’’ said Rayer who was in the area to witness council workers replace road signs.

    Dear YB;
    Thanks for the better traffic flow in Island Glades. I live in Changkat Delima Satu and want to bring to your notice about the garbage collection in the area. Why must it be only on alternate days? By the time the truck comes, our front lawn are often strewn with bits and pieces of rubbish - there are many residents, everyone with lots of garbage. This is NOT something we can help. Can the vendor come on a daily basis instead of 3 times a week?

    The other thing is: when the garbage truck actually comes, it comes at about 6.30am-7.00am. A very inconvenient time. This is the time we go to work (for some), or we send our kids to school. Image having to be bloked by the truck in the morning and suffering the painful smell of the garbage lot?

    You have to live in the area to know this!

    Please help.I cant offer any solution other than to say something must be done about the schedule of the garbage collection.

    All my neighbours have the same grievances. Hope you understand. And thanks for your help in advance.

    We will discuss with the MPPP and seek avenues to solve your grievances.
    Thank you for your comment.
