GEORGE TOWN: The state has asked the Kampung Buah Pala families to be “reasonable” in their compensation demands.
Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy said the state had already secured double-storey homes for 15 of the 24 affected families and was still trying to negotiate for more.
Dr Ramasamy was upset after one of the residents said it was their “right” to get more.
“Please do not keep talking about your rights. Some of you here today were against us but we still helped you get a land title free of encumbrances.
